Innovation Space

The transformation of Parkway's "library" into a Learning Commons and Innovation Lab began several years ago and continues to be a fluid and flexible learning environment. These spaces play an important role in delivering and extending instruction across all curriculums, adding a hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) approach to learning.

Working through the Engineering Design Process in STEAM labs, students in kindergarten through fifth grade develop the essential skills of critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration.

A grant from the Greenwich Alliance helped us jump start the creation of our Innovation Lab. Ongoing support from Parkway's PTA allows us to continue to add a variety of high and no-tech resources that meet new and changing needs and learning opportunities in the lab.
