Superintendent Appoints Julie Webster Interim Assistant Principal of International School at Dundee

Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones today announced the appointment of Ms. Julie Webster as interim assistant principal at International School at Dundee, effective immediately. She will assist Principal Dana Firmender supporting the entire ISD community, aiding in the development and achievement of school goals and objectives, while advocating on behalf of all students. Ms. Webster replaces Ms. Safiya Key, who was recently named the principal of an elementary school at Westport Public Schools.

“Since 2006, Ms. Julie Webster has enthusiastically served the students of Greenwich Public Schools with her incredible expertise as a speech-language pathologist, program assistant, and evaluator,” Dr. Jones said. “She has been a trusted member of the district evaluation team where she has worked closely with families and staff, and will now continue that great work  becoming a valuable member and leader of the ISD team.”

Mrs. Webster began her GPS education career in 2006 as a speech-language pathologist at Central Middle School. For the next 10 years, she planned and provided speech and language services for students in grades 6-8, collaborating with teachers and families to achieve their speech therapy goals. In 2016, Ms. Webster became speech-language evaluator for the district and was named program associate in 2022. For the past two months, she also supported Central MS as an assistant principal on an interim basis.

“Ms. Webster’s experience on the district evaluation team will bring valuable insight and perspective to our school,” Principal Firmender said. “She has shown great enthusiasm for our International Baccalaureate framework and I am excited for the opportunity to collaborate with her to continue to grow our program here at ISD.”

“I am thrilled to join the vibrant and dynamic International School at Dundee community,” Ms. Webster said. “The International Baccalaureate program at ISD provides students opportunities to be active participants in their own learning and I am excited to work with our students to help them reach their potential. I am focused on partnering with Principal Firmender, staff, and families to continue developing the IB program at ISD.”

Ms. Webster earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from DePauw University, a Bachelor of Health Science in Communication from Governors State University, a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University, and Intermediate Administration Certification from Sacred Heart University.
